Mobile and desktop app for configuring agronomic model parameters and simulating root growth over a season.
Agronomic root-growth simulation needs a way to enter planting date, geographic coordinates, row spacing, tree density, soil type, and monthly climate normals (temperature, humidity, precipitation, solar radiation, frost days, irrigation), then see the resulting water balance and growth curves — on a phone in the field, not just a desktop.
BYM produces water-deficit, water-stress, root/canopy growth, and yield-estimate charts from those inputs, running from the same Python codebase on both desktop and Android. Settings persist across sessions via platformdirs, and the UI is fully translated through a dedicated i18n module.
Kivy/KivyMD UI on top of a pure-Python growth model (water balance, root depth, and growth curves simulated from monthly climate normals and site parameters). Android packaging runs through Buildozer inside Docker, so builds are reproducible without installing an Android SDK/NDK or matching JDK on the host.
